Kerin O'Keefe from Wine Enthusiast rates more than 160 Brunello di Montalcino 2010





Kerin O'Keefe, the reputed wine expert from Wine Enthusiast has recently reviewed more than 160 brunellos from the recently released 2010 vintage. Our Producers have done extremely well again. Both Querce Bettina and the Zebras from Villa I Cipressi have received 94 points putting them in the top 12 for the vintage. Furthermore, the Querce Bettina received a special mention of "Cellar Selection" meaning that it is Highly collectable and will benefit from a few years of cellaring! Querce Bettina - Brunello di Montalcino 2010
Cellar Selection
Forest floor, leather, fennel and woodland berry aromas lead the nose. The vibrant palate delivers crunchy red cherry-berry, eucalyptus, sage and a balsamic note alongside fine-grained tannins. Drink 2017–2025.

Villa I Cipressi - Brunello di Montalcino Zebras 2010

Lovely Sangiovese aromas of pressed blue flower, mint, leather, berry and a balsamic note mingle in the glass. The juicy palate doles out ripe wild cherry, black plum, cinnamon, licorice and mocha alongside firm, velvety tannins. Drink after 2018.

Villa I Cipressi - Brunello di Montalcino 2010

Earthy aromas suggest forest floor, wet leaves, savory herb and menthol. On the palate, balsamic notes, eucalyptus, and white pepper accent a core of juicy black cherry. It’s young but balanced with firm, refined tannins and fresh acidity. Drink 2020–2025.

Cava d'Onice - Brunello di Montalcino 2010

Aromas of toasted oak, vanilla, spiced plum, leather and a whiff of game lead the nose. The rich palate offers baked black fruit, sage, tobacco and anisette alongside a backbone of assertive tannins.
