Kerin O'Keefe, the reputed wine expert from Wine Enthusiast has recently reviewed more than 160 brunellos from the recently released 2010 vintage. Our Producers have done extremely well again. Both Querce Bettina and the Zebras from Villa I Cipressi have received 94 points putting them in the top 12 for the vintage. Furthermore, the Querce Bettina received a special mention of "Cellar Selection" meaning that it is Highly collectable and will benefit from a few years of cellaring! Forest floor, leather, fennel and woodland berry aromas lead the nose. The vibrant palate delivers crunchy red cherry-berry, eucalyptus, sage and a balsamic note alongside fine-grained tannins. Drink 2017–2025.
Villa I Cipressi - Brunello di Montalcino Zebras 2010
Lovely Sangiovese aromas of pressed blue flower, mint, leather, berry and a balsamic note mingle in the glass. The juicy palate doles out ripe wild cherry, black plum, cinnamon, licorice and mocha alongside firm, velvety tannins. Drink after 2018.
